The journey from Arusha to Tarangire National Park takes approximately three hours. Tarangire is especially breathtaking during the dry season when numerous migratory animals return to the park’s permanent water source, the Tarangire River. Vast herds of wildebeest, zebras, elephants, elands, and oryx gather here, remaining until the rains arrive and they move on to greener pastures. Your overnight stay will be at Omega View Lodge or a similar accommodation.
The journey to Serengeti National Park via Olduvai Gorge takes around 3 to 4 hours. Olduvai Gorge, situated in the eastern Serengeti plains, is a world-renowned archaeological site where some of the earliest human fossils were discovered. Its stunning landscape was shaped by the same tectonic movements that formed the Great Rift Valley millions of years ago. Later in the evening, continue your drive and spend the night at Tukaone Tented Lodge or a similar accommodation.
After breakfast, depart early in the morning for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoy a full game drive en route from Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro. Overnight stay and dinner will be at Ngorongoro Wild Palm Lodge or a similar lodge.
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy an exciting game drive within this iconic natural wonder. It’s one of the best spots in Tanzania to spot black rhinos, as well as prides of lions, including the striking black-maned males. You’ll also see flocks of vibrant flamingos and a variety of water birds. Other wildlife sightings may include leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, various antelope species, and smaller mammals. In the late afternoon, drive to Omega View Lodge or a similar B&B.
The journey from Omega View Lodge to Lake Manyara National Park takes roughly 30 minutes. After enjoying a picnic lunch at Manyara, embark on a late afternoon game drive—the ideal time to spot wildlife in the park. Approaching from the east, the Rift Valley escarpment rises majestically on the horizon, providing a stunning backdrop to the lake. In the tall trees of the groundwater forest, monkeys swing from branch to branch, while elephants rest in the shade on the escarpment. Other commonly seen animals include zebras, impalas, giraffes, buffalo, hippos, and more. In the late afternoon, return to Omega View Lodge or a similar lodge in Arusha.
